Greg Lefebre
President and Chief Executive Officer
Greg Lefebre's extensive tenure and accomplishments in the Alberta development industry are well known among his business colleagues. Starting in the 80's with United Management in Edmonton, Greg was the Senior Development Manager of the Land Division and was instrumental in United becoming one of Edmonton's largest residential development firms. In 1992 he relocated to Calgary and joined the Apex team, achieving the position of Vice President in 1995, Senior Vice President in 1999 and Chief Operating Officer in 2003.
Currently President and CEO of Apex, Greg brings a solid business and financial background to the company, graduating in 1975 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and earning his Chartered Accountant designation in 1978.
Greg has also volunteered extensively for the development industry over the years, serving two terms as Vice Chairman of the Urban Development Institute of Alberta and was the recipient of the Spirit of UDI award for the Calgary region in 2007.
Ryan Boyd
Vice President
Ryan Boyd began his career with Apex in 2001 as a financial analyst. He moved on to work as a Project Manager from 2002 to 2006 with Apex Cityhomes before leaving Apex to work in the real estate commercial finance industry. Ryan worked as a broker with Canada ICI (Calgary) Capital Corporation from 2006 to 2009, gaining extensive knowledge of the banking and finance industry. He then expanded his industry experience with WestCreek Developments as Senior Development Manager from 2009 to 2011.
Now Vice President of Apex Land Developments, Ryan rejoined the Apex team in 2011 bringing with him extensive knowledge and experience in all facets of real estate development.
Ryan's education includes a BA in Economics from Union College (New York, 1999) and an MBA from the University of Calgary with a finance specialization (2002).
Jeff Smyth
Chief Financial Officer
Jeff joined the Apex Group in 2007 as Vice President of Finance and was appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer in 2009. In addition to leading the company's Accounting, Finance and IT group, he works closely with the company's external shareholders to ensure financing needs are met.
Jeff graduated from Laurentian University in Ontario with an Honours Bachelor Degree of Commerce in 1994. Shortly after earning his CMA Accounting designation in 1997, he entered the forest products industry for a major pulp and paper manufacturer in Ontario.
Over the next 8 years he held progressively senior roles dealing with a wide range of financial and strategic issues at the corporate level with large manufacturers in Ontario. He relocated to Calgary in 2005 as the Corporate Controller for a joint venture between Tembec and SGF Rexfor, that manufactured and sold engineered wood products across Canada and the United States.
